Practice Focus

Space for a Negotiated Resolution

Mediation emphasises voluntary participation and the parties’ ability to agree an acceptable resolution. Preparation considers not only the legal position but also the interests and practical limits of a possible settlement.

Mediation is a form of alternative dispute resolution where a third impartial party – mediator - assists the parties to reach a mutually acceptable agreement.
The Civil Procedure Code of Bulgaria provides for the possibility for voluntary dispute resolution, and mediation represents one of the alternatives provided.

Preparation and Settlement Terms

The client considers objectives, acceptable concessions and relationships worth preserving. Any resulting agreement is reviewed for clarity, implementation and its relationship with pending proceedings.
